Rowan Companies Gets Qatar Offshore Drilling Contracts
Rowan Companies Inc., a contract driller for the oil industry, said Monday it won drilling contracts for two drilling rigs to start operating offshore Qatar in late 2006 or early 2007.
Each contract is for a two-year term with an option for one additional year. Revenue from both contracts over two years will range from $278 million to $293 million, Rowan said.
Each rig is currently under contract in the Gulf of Mexico, and their relocation to the Middle East should be completed by the end of 2006.
